pickpocketed in your hometown of melbourne

matt is a fellow couch surfer from melbourne, and offered to take me out for a day in his stomping grounds. we were set to meet at flinders street station, under the clocks. upon arrival, we crossed the road and he noticed his wallet was missing. he jogged his memory, and remembered someone bumping into him while he was getting off the tram, but at the time paid no mind to it. then and there he realized he was a victim of pickpocketing. we spent the beginning of our encounters sorting out his cards at the bank, and filing a police report.
nearly two hours later, we were able to sit and unwind. we both agreed a cocktail was in dire need, and well deserved. we sat at a bar that overlooked yarra river, chatted and learned about each other, and matt shared his melbourne local tips and must see sights over cocktails and potato wedges.
we ventured off and walked through the instillation of light, which light show is accompanied and choreograhped to music. matt told me that was melbourne's answer to sydney's opera house. afterwards we viewed and dashed through the amazing victoria national gallery, as we were both pressed for time.
all in all we had a fun day, albeit matt getting robbed. i will say that i now know the proper procedures to execute if i am ever purse snatched in melbourne.
