i indulged on a cruise to the barrier reef and green island. there were many selections of cruise lines, but i chose the green island cruise because it was the most eco-friendly. they run on smaller ships that run much slower than the other ones, and as result they produce less carbon emissions. $1 will offset your carbon footprint; i willingly donated this small amount.
the views of the water and barrier reef were phenomenal. the colors were vivid, and the sea was extremely translucent.
captain steve invited me to join him in the cabin. he showed me all the different devices, gadgets, and programs used to run the boat. he shared stories about cairns, the green island, australia, and of his own travels abroad.
